Many people think ICE’s campaign of brutality is only being about white supremacy, but it reveals a step-by-step strategy targeting immigrants of color as a path towards imposing fascism upon the whole working class. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is becoming bolder and bolder. In L.A, their raids resulted in deaths of fleeing immigrants. In Chicago, they shot an immigrant to death and wounded a U.S. citizen, then killed two citizens in Minneapolis. What’s next, after they have begun killing U.S. citizens with impunity?

ICE leaves scars and wounds in its totalitarian wake. Also, coffins and grieving families. We must unite as a class to defeat them.

The number of ICE agents has increased exponentially, as has government funding, thanks to the “Big Beautiful Bill”. The government is spending a whopping $200 billion dollars arming an organization aimed at killing us! This is an attack on Black and Brown folks along with anyone who will stand up against this fascist regime and their brute force. ICE occupations are getting worse day by day.

What can we do to protect our undocumented sisters and brothers when the State’s brutal militarization becomes so strong? We must help working class people unite in the fight against these fascists. As global citizens we must also dare to build international solidarity with people around the world fighting fascist attacks on immigrants from Mexico, the United Kingdom and Tunisia, among others.

Government brutality repeats itself, and every day a new horrifying ICE dehumanization is featured on prime-time news. Most recently, ICE arrested a reporter for speaking out against their actions – doesn’t that remind you of reporters being arrested and “vanished” for standing up to their government in Argentina and Chile in the 1970’s? We can’t even recognize the country we live in anymore, nor should such actions be recognizable.

Yet, terrorizing and isolating immigrants is actually a modern-day application of the fascist Jim Crow methods first used in the 1800’s against African Americans in the South. This has always been done to strategically divide the working class in service to our ruling class. Therefore, we must stand together now more than ever.

The root cause of both the explosive growth of migrating poor people, and the totalitarian attacks launched against them in country after country, is that we are living amidst the final stages of capitalism. Advances in technology are permanently replacing workers, making them obsolete and creating a new class of displaced workers who must try to find work in a system that no longer needs them. They include part-time, contingent, minimum, and sub-minimum wage or unemployed workers, people of color, women, and youth – along with vast numbers of refugees and migrants. In the United States, the legacy of slavery ensures that African Americans are at the heart of the growing numbers of this class as it struggles to survive the end of sustainable work.

Now, the advent of AI (artificial intelligence) represents something beyond even robotics, automation that replaces human involvement on an even higher level. As the blood-sucking private property system replaces us with new technologies, the government and corporations must try to make enemies of the undocumented and other racial groups by blaming them for the lack of jobs.

Fortunately, heroes are rising from every sector of our society to speak out against this fascist regime. There have been effective actions against ICE, massive demonstrations and school walkouts. The organization of Rapid Response groups across the country is also inspiring. But more needs to be done, because we have not stopped them yet, and stop them we must.

Talk to us. We are ready to stand with you.

The abolition of chattel slavery transformed the nation, but that wealth was never redistributed to the people who had been enslaved. Private property survived, and the ruling class reorganized around new ways to exploit labor, control land, and divide workers along racial lines.
