Uncounted hundreds in Iran have been killed by bombs dropped by the United States and Israel. But the American public is awakening. The 12 million of us who turned out for No Kings Day rallies on June 14 and many, many other millions here and abroad do not support this war, and the rising fascism that drives it.  We hear the screams of immigrant kids being arrested. We hear the hungry cries of Gazans.  We hear those calling for food, for housing, for justice all around us at home.

Meanwhile, as working families struggled to pay rent and buy groceries, our government found billions to send enormous bombs across the world. This isn’t about keeping us safe – the wealthy class that profits from war is the same one that profits from our misery here at home. The bombs that Trump aimed at Iran’s nuclear science facilities were also intended to intensify fear and hatred among America’s people, to keep us divided and fighting each other instead of them. Last week he raised fear against immigrants. Last month against the Palestinian people and students living here. Today it’s Iranians.

Most of the world’s people share a history of overthrowing kings and tyrants. Here in the United States, we will celebrate our 1776 revolution on July 4th. On February 11th, Iranians celebrate the overthrow of the U.S.-supported dictator, the murderous Shah of Iran.  In both countries, poor and working class people continue to struggle against the systemic impoverishment and injustice of profit-driven capitalism that thrives on war, genocide and imperialist domination.

The majority in our country oppose any US war on Iran, including 53% of Trump voters. So do thousands of Israelis. With other revolutionaries, and with people of conscience across the world, the League of Revolutionaries for a New America extends the hand of internationalism to the workers of Iran and to all those who have migrated among us in this country. We pledge to help the workers and dispossessed people of our nation stop the military-industrial complex, oil corporations, and Israeli-funded war mongers by taking the handcuffs, bombs, and political power out of the hands of our billionaire ruling class.

What we can do right now:

  • Call representatives – demand NO on war funding
  • Join local peace groups and anti-war protests
  • Connect with neighbors facing eviction or medical debt
  • Build community groups fighting for healthcare, housing, and jobs
  • Teach others how fighting the bombing of Iran helps the fight for human needs here

When we unite across all lines – whether of color, immigration status, gender, etc., we become powerful enough to win. Our fight isn’t with workers overseas. Our fight is with the system that puts profits over people, everywhere.

NO WAR WITH IRAN!

What is the League of Revolutionaries for a New America?

We are people who join other revolutionaries  to challenge the ruling class on the immorality of its ruthless devastation of the earth and life.

Society must be reorganized so that the abundance made possible by science and technology benefits all — a society that puts humanity above profits.

Working Families Unite

Trump’s vendetta against Chicago began in his first term, when its people repeatedly expressed their hatred for his policies with mass protests, actually forcing Trump to cancel his appearance at the UIC Forum. Now ICE raids schools as families drop off and pick up their children. Veterans for Peace called on Illinois Governor Pritzker to offer sanctuary if members of the National Guard refuse to go to Chicago.

The Attack on Immigrants and All of Us

Fascistic ICE raids criminalize a section of the working class, turning us against each other instead of uniting against a government controlled by billionaires. As this drives up living expenses for everyone, public protests are forcing state and local officials to stand up against the federal government.

Fascism Attacks Higher Education

Trump’s attacks on universities reveal how fascism operates with open criminality, facilitated by the politics of compromise of university leaders and corporate Democrats. Attacking equity and inclusion means that treating all people equally is formally rejected. MAGA offers only the rhetoric of white supremacy, since most working class whites won’t be able to afford higher ed or other “privileges.”

Reform and Revolution 2025

Automation is polarizing humanity into one camp possessing the vast wealth of society and the other without adequate means of survival. As this polarization becomes more extreme, the struggle for basic necessities must move from trying to reform the system toward revolutionary transformation.

The Fight Against Fascism in Oakland

It is time to go on the offensive by uniting unhoused people with tenants and the entire larger movement for housing.

A New Urban Movement: Public Wealth For Public Good

In Chicago and New York the idea of “public wealth for public good” has led to calls for city-run grocery stores and fare-free transit. This challenges the belief that basic survival must be monetized. Can city government become a builder and provider – not to extract profit, but to deliver justice?
